I called October 21,2015 to check if my deposit was made by

Social Security. I was told $988 was transferred to a bank

account. I told Direct Express, I was unaware of this transaction.

I called there fraud department.NO HELP there. They said I would

receive forms.I called repeatedly and NO forms received. On NOvember 10, I RECEIVED a letter from Direct Express, they stated with their investigation my funds were transferred to a bank. They gave me a phone to call for me to investigate. I called this number and this bank told me I didn't have the information needed to investigate and this was

the Direct Deposit's responsibility to investigate.I called Direct Deposit and expressed this to them. Now I'm told it will take 45 to 90 days for their investigation. Anytime I called their supervisor (JEREMY) has been very rude and not helpful. I am 77 years old, can't pay my rent or get my medications. I HAVE NO MONEY.What can I do???

Product or Service Mentioned: Direct Express Account.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $999.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Direct Express Cons: I hate direct express.

I filed a complaint my account was the range of $189 September 17th stopping a pending transaction from bluebird.com along with three under $2 hits. I found my account at 71 cents on September 17th I am maybe Italy called the customer service representative was awesome she was able to resume first the charges to me and informed me to go to the bank and to zero out the card then call them back and cancel the card which would guarantee that no other charges would go through.

Two days later I realized that there was a negative against my card which I still had access to on my mobile app but I couldn't contact the company because the new card was in transit. Today I contacted the company after I activated the new card and I got four drops calls after 15 attempts. I was able to speak to for wonderful people that were trying to help me and just as they were transferring me to a department that could help me the line would drop one lady went as far as saying that they would reverse the charges again because they should not have been able to access them after the card had been canceled but again the call was dropped and I had to call back telling my story for the 4th time. I did speak to a supervisor at this time and he was a little less compassionate than the prior for people that I've spoken to earlier transferred me to the dispute Department.

The dispute Department gentleman by the name of Ian was awesome he took my initial complaint and took all of the details down of what happened and is sending me a fraud pack gave me a fax number that I could fax the information back that number is 877-5007 0012 + or I could send a written complaint and dispute to Direct Express, PO Box to 45998, San Antonio Texas 78224. He informed me I would receive a fraud packet in the mail train 3 to 5 business days and once I fill out that information to send it back in mediately because I have 10 days from the day they send it to me start back to them and it's suggested I fax it. According to the terms and conditions agreement and the policies and procedures on these type of fraudulent situations it says I have 10 days from the time the fraud occurred and that if it's not done in ten days that any correspondence that I have with Direct Express or their parent companies or governing companies were whatever umbrella they're working under companies, they have the right to deny any claim that's not according to their timetables protocols and procedures. He did tell me to be as detailed as I can remember names if I can X get copies of the receipt from the bank that I went to to drain my account.

Because my benefits are due on the 3rd and I will now be $189 negative for up to three months or until they decide that yes it was fraud.

Subsequently I also discovered tonight during my first conversation that bluebird.com is the culprit who is Affiliated through American Express but they work in conjunction with Walmart and whoever got into my account is also trying to get $217 on top of another $189 from my account and they did that on the 22nd of September which proves that someone is fraudulently trying to access my account so the chances are I may get the money back if I am quick and get the paperwork back faxed to the company and make copies of everything. So that's my experience I live in Peach Bottom Pennsylvania Lancaster County

got on my DirectExpress app on September the 7th 2019, and had noticed that there was $400 taken off of my card on September 6th 2019 with an ATM cash withdrawal. I never use the ATM and never make any withdrawals of my money, I only use my card to pay bills and that's basically it, so soon as I noticed that it said cash withdrawal I knew something was wrong since I never take money directly off my card.

I then immediately contacted the “careless *** from DirectExpress about what had happened. The lady I talked to was extremely rude, I spent half of the time trying to prove to the lady that I was really who I was saying I was, after that she had told me that they would issue me out a new card in the mail in 2 business days for $13.50 so I said okay fine, and then she proceeded to say that I would get a phone call soon from an investigator since it showed that this happened clear out in California, and I’m all the way in Morgantown, Wv. She never said anything about me getting my $400 back, or what I could even do to get it back which is ridiculous. I was trying to explain to her that the money that was taken off of my card was my rent money, and that I couldn’t afford to get kicked out of my home I have 2 children, the call then dropped and I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone else about this issue.

I also tried contacting the bank “Comerica bank” about my issue, and they say they don’t have anything to do with it that I need to contact DirectExpress. My landlord doesn't tolerate rent being late, and will evict me no matter the circumstances. I live on a fixed income (social security) with 2 children, one with a disability, and so someone stealing this money from my family has been really stressful and hard, I have had really bad panic attacks since this has happened, being unable to pay my rent and then spending hours & hours on the phone trying "unsuccessfully" to get reimbursed by Direct Express. I just can’t even begin to comprehend how someone could do something so horrible like this to someone and then basically get away with it, it's just so awful to me.

I want someone to actually do something about this, and not just say they are going to issue out a new card and be done with it.

I have also spent hours doing research online about this, and this has happened to so many other people, and I just find it so hard to believe that since this has happened so many times before and so long ago at that, why they are not doing something to protect people more from this sort of thing. "I just don't want to see this happen to anyone else."

@Deborah Wheeldon

I also have had $39.90 taken from my direct Express debit card, 6 times. I reported this to direct Express.

The woman I talked to was snotty & rude to me. She told me they would send me a form, & I had to fill it out & have it back to them 10 days from the day I called. I recieved the form the day before I had to have it back to them. I sent it out anyway.

I have heard NOTHING from anyone. I'm out $366. That's alot of money when your disabled & on a fixed income. I'm pissed off too.

Please help! Jamie Chacula jchacula@gmail.com

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Texas. You can do it online.

The more people step up and complain, the more attention will be put on Direct Express. SSA should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this HORRIBLE company to handle our benefits.
